Continental women live longer 'thanks to international healthcare'

British women may want to move abroad and become an expatriate as they have one of the lowest life expectancies in Europe, according to the University of Leicester.
Carol Jagger, professor of epidemiology at the University of Leicester, said that other established countries have healthier lifestyles that include a better attitude towards diet and exercise and that British people should learn from this.
Ms Jagger went on to say that other European countries were more advanced when it came to beating diseases like cancer.
"Our cancer survival rates are not as good as some Western European countries either. Our rates of obesity are higher than other countries too," she said.
People who are thinking of moving abroad in a bid to get better health treatment are reminded they may need to get expatriate medical insurance to cover the cost of expensive procedures.
Research by the Lancet revealed that in 2005 British women had a life expectancy of 82.7 years while for French women it was 85.4 and for Italian females it was 85.3.
