China 'the land of opportunity' for young expats

Young foreigners struggling to find work in their home countries are increasingly looking to China to find employment, it has been reported.
Speaking to the Associated Press, Mikala Reasbeck, a 23-year-old from West Virginia, said she had searched for jobs across the US to no avail, but had found plenty of opportunities abroad after volunteering at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Ms Reasbeck is part of a wider phenomenon according to Chris Watkins, manager for headhunting firm MRI China Group, who told the news agency: "China is really the land of opportunity now, compared to their home countries.
"This includes college graduates as well as maybe more established businesspeople, entrepreneurs and executives from companies around the world."
He added that the number of CVs his company receives from those living abroad has tripled in the last 18 months.
Those who find employment abroad could also get wider benefits from the experience, says a travel expert.
Lauren Mackay, brand manager at career break firm Gap Year for Grown Ups, described time spent overseas as "a great way to improve your soft skill set no matter what your age".
