Brits stay on and look for expatriate jobs

01/06/09 16:22

Despite some economic concerns, British expatriates are remaining in the United Arab Emirates, as they are confident they will find work.

The National has reported that many of the settled overseas workers were expected to head home when they were told their jobs were threatened, but many remain.

Alex Light, originally from London, recently found himself out of work but he is confident that his expatriate life holds more opportunities than he will find back in the UK.

"I have complete conviction in my decision to stay," 26-year-old Mr Light told the publication.

"I've worked hard for three years and just because I lost my job doesn't mean I'll let go of the things I hold dear," he explained.
