Brits living in Bulgaria 'confused by bureaucracy'

British expatriates who have moved to Bulgaria find the country's bureaucracy confusing, researchers have revealed.
A study by Judith Allen from the University of Westminster and Dr Iskra Dandolova from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, found British expats are settling in well but are baffled by some of the country's paperwork.
Property lifestyle magazine Quest Bulgaria has detailed the study's findings. It says the researchers revealed Brits rely heavily on the local banking system and praise its ability to transfer money.
There are also a number of cultural differences. The magazine claims: "Bulgarians don't understand English gardens and are puzzled about why the English don't grow their own vegetables and buy everything from shops."
Basic healthcare is free in Bulgaria, however people considering a move should look at investing in more comprehensive cover, such as that provided by international health insurance policies.
