Brits buying foreign currency in bulk

Some Brits are buying foreign currency in larger amounts to help save on fees.

According to the Mail's financial portal thisismoney.co.uk, staying away from swapping your money at airports can help, as it claims they are between eight and 12 per cent more expensive.

By making larger currency transactions Olive Walker, 65, from West Yorkshire says she gets a better deal.

"I always phone up and order more than £500 in one go so there is no postage charge," she explained.

British expatriates have a number of choices when looking to access their cash. Most ATM machines now allow access to UK balances and Brits can even open an account with a local branch in their new country.

While banking services are increasingly portable, healthcare services still vary from country to country.

Brits could consider looking into specialist expatriate insurance products and may wish to get their finances in order before making a move to an expatriate lifestyle.ADNFCR-1788-ID-19261998-ADNFCR
