Brits are looking to Turkey for bargain house prices, say experts
29/06/09 20:47
More British buyers are showing an interest in buying property in Turkey thanks to its cheap house prices, says a property firm.
According to World First, deals can be now found from as low as £30,000.
"People are attracted to properties in the region of £30,000 as they know that in the UK they will have to spend that on a new car," said the firm's head of private clients Elisabeth Dobson.
Ms Dobson noted that Turkey has much more to offer than cheap bars and beer.
She noted Turkey could provide a tempting expatriate destination, as it could be possible for a British owner to sell up in the UK and live off their interest.
In related news, the Spanish Property Owners Guild has said prices for the most expensive homes in Spain will "slowly increase" but only move when "more than one buyer shows an interest in the same property".
