British expats in France warned to expect dangerous weather

British expatriates who moved to France in search of better weather could be surprised to hear half the country's departments have issued serious weather alerts.
Various weather warnings have been issued in areas across the country.
The Orange weather alert has warned expatriates and locals that there may be some very violent periods of weather.
Areas in the Dordogne are still recovering after they were blasted by the elements. Many houses were hit by lightning and according to the fire brigade there were 14 fires reported.
The South of France benefits from warmer summers and offers British expatriates the benefits of a Mediterranean summer each year.
Brits not only move to the south but into other regions such as Brittany. Online travel guide Gitelink noted the region can become cloudy and wet at any time of the year "just as it can in Devon or Cornwall".
