British ambassador courts controversy after supporting equality

The British ambassador to Poland Ric Todd has ruffled the feathers of politicians and clergy after distributing material translated for gay rights leaders, reports the Daily Mail.
Janusz Kochanowski, the nation's civil rights ombudsman, told the paper that Mr Todd had "exceeded his authority".
A foreign office spokesperson said the ministry "does have a policy of promoting LGBT (lesbian gay bisexual transgender) rights' abroad".
Moving to another country often requires expatriates to make compromises and to remain within their hosts' laws.
Health insurance provision is rarely as extensive and social attitudes will differ for Brits who choose to settle abroad.
