An increasing number of people are looking to move abroad and become an expatriate in Brazil, according to an author.

Romasa Storey, writer of Live and Work in Brazil, said that Brazil is a better place to live as the economy and political climate have become more stable since President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva returned to power.

"He's in power again and the economy is thriving because people have the confidence to spend," she said.

Ms Storey went on to say that Brazil is attractive to a potential expatriate because the country is one of the global economic powerhouses in the 21st century, which will lead to growth and prosperity.

"In the economic climate, people have got to know it is one of the BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India and China, which are the economic leaders of the 21st century," she added.

Ms Storey's book explains all the challenges of being an expatriate in Brazil such as the culture, climate, obtaining visas, investing in property and how to obtain permanent residency.
