Be an expatriate in Spain 'for the quality of life'
28/01/09 17:39
Spain offers an expatriate a quality of life that is "second to none", according to a spokesperson for Propertyshowrooms.com.
Cary Johnston described Spain as an "outdoor" country, where an emphasis is placed on good exercise, water sports and better eating as part of a healthy lifestyle.
"The air quality is better, there is less of a rat race, and even just having brighter days makes for an all-round healthier lifestyle both physically and mentally," he said.
A survey from the Association of International Property Professionals, Spain continues to be the most popular destination for British buyers abroad, with 25.4 per cent of the market.
Mr Johnston added: "On the community front, there are large expat clusters throughout the Mediterranean coastal regions, so the comfort of experiencing a piece of your own culture is never far away, should you need it.
Expatriate communities in Spain include those from Britain, Germany, Ireland, and several Scandinavian countries.
