An expatriate 'should go' for Alberta

A potential expatriate looking to move abroad to Canada may want to consider relocating to Alberta, according to Property Frontiers.
Christopher Chadd, head of research at the property company, said that future developments in Alberta will make the destination popular with employees and those looking for an investment.
"With continued focus from large oil companies hoping to exploit the tar sands in northern Alberta, there is an ever increasing demand for worker housing and yields should be attractive," he said.
Mr Chadd went on to say that the Canadian property market had not been as badly affected as America by the credit crunch which meant that people were still looking to join the expatriate community in the country.
"Prices are low compared to the US but with what is happening in the global money markets, I would be inclined to adopt a wait and see attitude. That said some areas could still prove to be keen investments," he added.
Alberta is situated in the south of Canada between British Columbia and Saskatchewan and has a population of around 3.5 million.
